Job Description:

Description: The Certified Medical Assistant performs a variety of clinical and technical functions to include patient care. The Certified Medical Assistant will assist clinic leadership in all aspects of patient flow while maintaining a high quality of patient care in a compassionate manner.
Typical Duties:

1. Performs complete data collection of patient and other various duties and direct care with regard to age and developmental stage, presenting complaint, and pertinent history.
2. Completes documentation, meet current standards along with policies and procedures including
3. Participates in quality improvement activities.
4. Assists with scheduling appointments.
5. Assists in preparing and maintaining clinic readiness including but not limited to maintaining neat, orderly and supplied exam rooms and sets up for procedures as indicated.
6. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant training program.

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
• Current JPS recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and must be maintained throughout employment
• Current certification from a national registry as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).

Preferred Education and Experience:
• 1 year experience practice setting or a hospital based clinic setting.
