Job Description

Hadrian - Manufacturing the Future

Hadrian builds software-defined precision component factories for aerospace customers. After a successful customer beta phase, we are expanding to our second factory in Torrance and hiring the last members of our foundational team.

We are looking for machinists with a passion to push the trade forward and engineers with the drive to augment manufacturing.Β

Description of the Department

Hadrian's Quality Department is responsible for :

(1) Performing inspections leveraging cutting edge metrology equipment & best practices to guarantee perfect parts to our customers. This includes working directly with our customers counterpart on necessary paperwork & reports.
(2) Working with Machining and the rest of our Operations team to embed Quality across the entire production process, including formalizing in-process quality checks and adjusting our risk model based on historical inspection data.
(3) Develop software & robotics automation to push the boundaries of what a Quality department can do- CMM programmers engineer processes and developing creative metrology solutions to support production of the industry's most complex parts.

Your first 30 days

  • Onboard as a Factory Technician to learn Hadrian's Machining technology & processes, with a particular focus on building familiarity with our internal ERP
  • Own programming of a medium-complex part to get introduced to our PC-DMIS automation tools and robotics cell as well as develop working partnership with CAM programming and Machining team
  • Understand Hadrian's unique workflow and how to leverage our entire suite of metrology asset
  • Identify possible engineering projects you want to work on

Success in this role

  • Consistently and reliably own the Quality processes of assigned jobs. This includes partnering with CAM Programming on a manufacturing strategy, developing the appropriate in-process manual inspections, and optimizing the final inspection strategy for prototyping or high volume production applications.
  • In Proveout phases, be an effective thought partner with Machining and Programming in order to influence manufacturing strategy modifications with the right data and production intuitions.
  • Write effective, clear, and standardized work instructions for Technicians to be able to perform CMM and Manual inspections. This includes designing user-friendly fixtures with minimal room for error (i.e using jigs) for the operator.
  • Identify metrology projects you want to own- highly dependent on baseline technical ability and apetite for engineering work.

What you might be a part of later

  • Robotics design : serve as technical expert to influence the user interface of our high volume CMM cells. Ensure that we are taking into account the right parameters when designing and building robotics.
  • Software automation : standardize programming techniques (alignments, probes) and communicate rule-based approaches to our Software team to influence our automated programming development
  • People leadership : our vision is to groom Inspectors from our internal pool of technicians. Develop training programs (GD&T, metrology) and evaluation criteria to build the next generation of manufacturing workers

Requirements

  • You must be able to program aerospace parts using PC-DMIS. If you know Zeiss and have not used PC-DMIS for a while, that's okay, but we require ability to ramp up in a few weeks. The interview process will require live programming of a part with PC-DMIS before you come onsite.
  • Demonstrated creative programming and metrology problem solving abilities in a AS9100 environment

Who you will work with

  • Corey Black is Hadrian's Head of Quality : https://www.linkedin.com/in/corey-black-6a955320/
  • Our team is comprised of 6 programmers, including Alejandro Montoya (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jorgemorenomontoya/) , Jorge Guzman (https://www.linkedin.com/in/jorgeeliasguzman/), Osama Harb (https://www.linkedin.com/in/osama-harb-91816921b/), and many more that do not have Linkedin
