Job Description

DESCRIPTION: As a CNC Horizontal Set-up Machinist, you will set-up and run the most complex proven or new parts with little to no supervision as well as assist in the development of new processes. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: · Responsible for proper set-up and utilization of assigned equipment. · Set-up, edit, and run all facets of work assigned · Inspect and measure parts to maintain statistical process controls charts · Read blueprints, tooling and S/U instructions, and standard charts for specifications · Adhering to shop processes and procedures, including updates, signatures and stamps, counting quantities, labeling and non-conformance related activities · May assist engineering/programming in developing fixtures as needed · Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction to operators and lower level machinists as required · Ensure an accurate router accompanies all work orders · Assist Lead person as needed · Monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust machine controls as needed · Confer with Team Leaders and Programmers regarding drawings, sketches, and design data of a part to determine dimension and configuration of tool path(s) · Monitor and replace cutting tools as needed in machines and equipment · Test operation of tool to ensure proper function and performance · Ensure company procedures and “best machine practices” are being followed and are in place at all times · Perform additional related duties as assigned · Work Over Time as required by Customer/Company needs REQUIREMENTS: · Minimum 10 years’ work experience · Between three and five years of trade school, vocational education, or four years formal apprenticeship preferred · Extensive knowledge of Horizontal machines · Comprehensive knowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of blueprint reading, GD & T · Extensive knowledge of accepted inspection practices · Extensive knowledge of G & M code · Demonstrated ability at operating computer numerical control machines · Ability to read blueprints to ensure accuracy in part making · Ability to speak basic English language PHYSICAL DEMANDS: · Visual acuity: near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine dial gauges, blueprints, and precision measuring instruments used in the inspection of parts · Hearing ability: ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action · Frequently required to stand, walk, push, reach overhead, and bend to the floor · Frequently required to sit and use hands to handle or interact with objects, tools, or controls · Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Job Type: Full-time Pay: $26.00 - $40.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Day shift • Evening shift • Monday to Friday • Night shift • Weekends as needed People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Experience: • Machining: 10 years (Preferred) Ability to Commute: • Fremont, CA 94538 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • Fremont, CA 94538: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
