About the Role
We are seeking a meticulous and dependable individual to become an integral part of our Machine Shop team. In this role, you will independently set up, adjust, and program machine tools, utilizing G-coding to craft products that meet precise engineering specifications. Your expertise will ensure the delivery of high-quality components within a dynamic manufacturing environment.Responsibilities
• Program machines, managing tool conditions, and independently utilizing Mazatrol, G, and M codes to ensure optimal performance.
• Set up and operate a variety of machine tools, including CNC machines, lathes, and milling machines, to produce precision parts.
• Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures, using precision measuring instruments to verify that parts meet specified tolerances.
• Operate machines according to detailed blueprints and quality standards, identifying and reporting any defects or necessary adjustments.
• Conduct routine maintenance on machine tools, troubleshooting issues and making minor repairs to maintain operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of production activities, documenting any deviations from specifications and completing necessary paperwork.
• Collaborate with engineers and supervisors to optimize processes, contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, including the use of PPE, and participate in training programs to enhance skills and product knowledge.QualificationsRequired Skills
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in CNC programming, with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience using hand, pneumatic, and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Preferred Skills
• Experience in operating at least three categories of machines, such as manual machining, turning centers, and milling machines.
• Strong problem-solving skills with effective verbal and written communication.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• General computer knowledge and familiarity with software like JD Edwards and Microsoft Outlook.
