CNC Machinist / Operator (Lathe) (Weekend Shift, 3 12's paid for 40)
Job Description
The Role
o Performing set-ups on a variety of numerically controlled Lathes ranging in not only size but also twin spindle turning centers.
o Providing adequate feedback in relation to program functionality as well as efficiency in an effort to eliminate down time and increase quality
o Performing set-ups for novice operators
o Performing in-process inspection of machined parts utilizing drawing/ blue prints with the aid of standard precision measurement devices.
o Developing safe and efficient work holding solutions along side CNC Programmers that enable consistent and verifiable performance.
o Performing hand edits when necessary.
o Record information on work orders/ Travelers in order to maintain required traceability.
o Standardize and help develop departmental procedures and processes in relation to continuous improvement.
The Requirements
o Must be proficient in G&M codes
o Experience reading Drawings, Blue-prints, and interrupting supplemental customer documents.
o Applied understanding of GD&T
o Have basic skills in relation to calculating appropriate feeds and speeds
o Work well in a team environment
o Established knowledge of precision instruments as well as their usage
Available Shifts
• Weekend (3 x 12 hour shifts Friday - Sunday) Friday 11:30am - 12:00am Saturday & Sunday 8:00am - 8:30pm, work 36 hours paid for 40.
Pay Frequency:
• Bi weekly
