CNC Machinist Setup/Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist Set-up/Operator to perform complex set-ups and machining of various parts at a AS9100 Certified job shop machining facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for setup and operation of CNC machines to produce parts per customer requirements.
Pay:$14.00 - $25.00 per hour (based upon technical skills/experience)
Shifts:
• First Shift; 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Monday - Friday
• Second Shift; 4 p.m. - 4:00 a.m.; Tuesday - Friday
Job Requirements and Qualifications
Skills:
· Ability to set up and operate 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC Mills & CNC Lathes to produce parts per specifications by applying knowledge of machining methods.Currently utilizing HAAS vertical mills, HAAS Y-Axis lathes.
· Ability to study and understand sample parts, drawings, Job Travelers/production routers, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to machine products and determine dimensions and tolerances.
· Ability to position, secure, and align holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machines.
· Ability to adjust and calculate machine speed, depths, and feed ratios.
· Ability to change cutting tools and adjust machine controls to ensure specified timing, clearances, and tolerances.
· Ability to observe machine during operation in order to detect problems.
· Ability to measure dimensions of finished parts to check for defects/ensure conformance to specifications.
· Ability to use micrometers, calipers, height gages, and dial indicators.
· Ability to locate work in progress (WIP) through knowledge of the various production processes, as well as identify production routing step on Job Traveler.
· Ability to complete quality documentation such as Setup sheets, Inspection Reports, Job Traveler/router sign off, Nonconformance tags, etc.
· Ability to perform necessary maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
· Ability to preserve a clean work area.
· Ability to maintain accurate part count and electronically record data on a daily basis.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with fast-changing priorities.
Knowledge/Experience:
· CNCMachineSet-upand Operation: 2 years minimum (Required)
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (Required)
· Working knowledge of and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) (Required)
· Knowledge/experience with conforming to AS9100 Quality Standards a plus
Education:
· Associate of Applied Science (AAS) or Certification in one of the following areas of study: Precision Machining Technology, CNC Journeyman Machinist, CNC Manufacturing Technician, CNC Machining, CNC Machinist
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
