Eaton's Aerospace Division is currently seeking a CNC Programmer to join our team. This position is based at our Charleston, SC facility. Relocation benefits are available

Position Overview:

The CNC Programmer is responsible for supporting manufacturing engineers with tooling troubleshooting, tooling prove-out, new product process development, process plan and control plan updates, process improvement and corrective action activities as needed.

In this function you will:

  • Support manufacturing engineers with tooling troubleshooting, tooling prove-out, new product process development, process plan and control plan updates, process improvement and corrective action activities as needed.
  • Define, develop and incorporate CNC programs utilizing a CAD/CAM program, CAD solid models for CNC lathes with multi-axis and spindles, CNC mills, multi-tasking machines to generated multi-axis machining of complex products.
  • Translate drawings or CAD solid models into a computer aided/automated manufacturing (CAM) program, create the sequence of operations and establishes the cutting tools needed to manufacture.
  • Maintain documentation of CNC programs, process, and tooling records for production programs in compliance with customer and company including a good understanding of ISO9001 and ANSI 14.5 GD&T.
  • Select, design, and purchase CNC tooling and fixtures
  • Support capital improvement projects including machine purchase recommendations, capital expenditure justification, installation, programming, etc.
  • Streamline processes by eliminating waste utilizing lean manufacturing tools, cost saving ideas, and root cause analysis of nonconformance.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution required.
  • 3 years CNC Programming experience in a complex machining environment
  • Experience in use of G-Code, CAD/CAM software.
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Relocation benefits are available for those within the United States willing to relocate to the Charleston, SC area. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

Preferred qualifications:

  • Technical degree in programming, manufacturing, machining, or related field
  • 5+ years CNC Programming experience in a complex machining environment
  • CAM solid modeling
  • Current knowledge of modern tooling technology
  • Proficient in ANSI Y14.5 geometric tolerancing and understanding of ISO90001
  • Experience in (Gibbs CAM or Master CAM)
