About the Position:

Astrobotic Technology is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist who can own the entire life cycle of manufacturing, develop best practices, create NC programs and operate multi-axis CNC mills. You will work closely with the engineering and design teams to create high-quality components for low-volume, high-complexity projects primarily for the Landers & Spacecraft department. You will have the opportunity to work on projects that will define the benchmark for commercial delivery of payloads to the Moon and beyond.

 

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalency certificate

  2. 3+ years of relevant programming, machining, and/or operating experience

  3. Proficient in NC programming

  4. Working understanding of cradle to grave machining topics including tooling selection, cutting speeds, fixturing, job planning, etc.

  5. Experience with reading and understanding drawings and GD&T

  6. Able to lift and move heavy items up to 50 lbs.

  7. Able to operate pallet jacks, forklifts, cranes, and other lift assist devices

  8. Adaptable to a startup environment, able to self-start with minimal guidance

  9. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and requirements

 

Requirements:

  1. Collaborate with the design and engineering teams

  2. Create NC programs

  3. Operate multi-axis CNC mills, tube benders, etc.

  4. Machine complex components while balancing quality and speed

  5. Ensure parts meet quality and engineering specifications

  6. Assist with material handling, selection, procurement, etc.

  7. Keep the manufacturing area clean and safe

  8. Develop tools, methods, and best practices as it relates to manufacturing

  9. Desired Qualifications:

  10. Associates degree in design, technology, manufacturing, or equivalent

  11. 10+ years of relevant programming, machining, and/or operating experience

  12. Experience manufacturing components for aircraft, spacecraft or launch vehicles

  13. Experience programming multi-axis mills

  14. Familiarity with machining aerospace alloys including aluminum, titanium, nickel-alloys, copper, etc.

  15. Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)

  16. Familiarity with inspection and quality techniques, including CMMs (Faro preferred), dye penetrant, ultrasonic, radiography, etc.

  17. A strong passion to learn, grow our manufacturing capabilities and produce world-class component.

Salary Range: $60,000- $85,000
