Job Summary

The COBRA Analyst is responsible for working directly with the clients to handle daily COBRA updates and inquiries, as they pertain to manual and electronic data. This position will focus on maintaining operational procedures with high-level analytical thinking.

Essential Functions

  • The essential functions listed represent the major duties of this role, additional duties may be assigned.
  • Analyzes data and performs multiple audits on reconciliation reports for Finance (20%)
  • Gathers knowledge and keeps abreast of changing COBRA laws and regulations through communication with the Compliance Team; translates information into process modifications for the COBRA team. (10%)
  • Anticipates potential issues, proactively monitors data and troubleshoots errors to resolve issues impacting enrollment (10%)
  • Provides the Training Team with updates to policies and procedures ensuring the most recent information is being disseminated (10%)
  • Quickly and efficiently responds to client and internal questions and requests regarding eligibility and data. (10%)
  • Shares reports and corresponding findings to relevant department heads and management (10%)
  • Maintains a positive relationship with the client and their representatives (10%)
  • Resolves problems and escalates issues to management as appropriate (10%)
  • Actively participates and interacts with team members to understand business needs, identify the best solution, and assist IT to architect the processes to meet the needs (5%)
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with all internal departments (5%)
Required Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years related work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and significant experience working with Microsoft Office; specifically, but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor communications based on audience and business objectives.
  • Comfortable working and communicating across operational areas and working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently/autonomously and proactively as well as collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to identify problems/issues and offer workable solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and executives in a confident manner.
  • Maintain confidentiality and observe HIPAA and PHI requirements.
  • Strong data analytics skills.
  • Ability to prioritize or seek information on how to best prioritize projects.
  • Project confidence, high energy, enthusiasm, and high regard for client advocacy and service.
Required Education

Related Bachelor's degree or additional related equivalent work experience

Preferred Education and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree

Experience in the health insurance administration industry a plus.

General Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
