COGNOS/JAVA Specialist (Junior)-GMOT
Job Description
Responsible for developing and delivering software to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional and non-functional requirements. Codes solutions, unit tests, and is aware of the development practices of the bank. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates in estimating work necessary to realize a story/requirement through the delivery lifecycle. Understands and utilizes basic architecture components in solution development. Codes solution and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria. Executes automated test suites (integration, regression, performance); collects results and flags issues. Documents and communicates required information for deployment, maintenance, support, and business functionality. Adheres to team delivery/release process and cadence pertaining to code deployment and release. Individual contributor.
Role Overview:
Develop, enhance and support a range of COGNOS Reports, together with understanding and learning existing SQL scripts. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise with both technical and business colleagues globally at locations in Singapore, India, London, New York, and Chicago. The successful candidate will work as part of a wider development team spread between London, Singapore, and India. Current team members will provide support to enable you to familiarise yourself with the relevant functional aspects of the development role.
Who We Look For:
We are looking for a software developer with a keen interest in SQL and very analytical. The person should also have some Java experience, as this would be highly beneficial for the role.
What YOU need to have: 2 + Years of experience needed for the below skills
- Experience in Database programming tools (Oracle Database - SQL/PLSQL), Shell Scripting (Unix), Hibernate, and Spring Framework (Spring Boot/Rest API).
- COGNOS Business Intelligence Tool
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and SDM model for CI/CD processes and associated tools
- Basic Java experience
- US Citizenship Required
What we would like you to have:
- Experience in design, development, testing, and implementation of microservices and Web-based applications
- Developing software applications using Angular and Java/J2EE frameworks
- Experience using version control/project tracking/CI/CD tools like GIT, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and Ansible
