Collateral Services Analyst II

BASIC PURPOSE:
Performs a variety of duties necessary to support the Collateral Services department in verifying the eligibility of collateral pledged to the Bank as security for Member obligations in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards of the Bank. Performs analysis related to collateral verifications and property inspections using the Bank's written policies and procedures.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze the adequacy of various loan documents for collateral delivered into the Bank's collateral vault and pledged under blanket lien, including but not limited to the analysis and review of appraisal reports, mortgage notes, deeds of trust, assumption agreements, and title policy, to ascertain that a security interest can be perfected by the Bank in the underlying collateral in the event of default.
• Provide support to member institutions regarding the status or eligibility of their custody, Held-for-Sale/Warehouse program, and/or listing collateral.
• Analyze, review, and value assets being pledged as security for advances from loan files furnished by the member.
• Assists in the maintenance and testing of collateral department applications and Bank systems that interface with collateral applications.
• Perform ongoing operations associated with the Bank's Held-For-Sale/Warehouse program; daily monitoring and updates, and quarterly onsite HFS collateral verifications consistent with Bank policies and procedures.
• Produce and maintain various reports and analysis pertaining to collateral verifications, collateral valuations, UCC filings, Interagency Guidance, and property inspections.
• Consistent with Bank policies and procedures, coordinate, schedule and performs collateral desktop collateral reviews utilizing member's trial balance and Call Report data.
• Assists in the ongoing maintenance of collateral system data and customer information.
• Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors degree in business or accounting is preferred. A related college degree may be considered in addition to the experience requirement.
• 5+ years experience actively engaged in lending or real estate asset management with emphasis on underwriting and/or valuation analysis of residential, commercial and agricultural loans. A related college degree may be considered in lieu of some of this experience requirement.
• Working knowledge of balance sheet and trial balances of banks, savings associations, insurance companies, and credit unions.
• Excellent research and analytical skills; a self motivator is a must.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Significant proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel is required. Additional proficiency in software applications such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI, PowerAutomate, SQL, and AdobeSign is preferred.
