Collateral Verification Analyst II

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and conduct collateral verification reviews ("CVR") at Member locations throughout a 5-state region to establish the eligibility and lien perfection of pledged loan collateral. Determine collateral eligibility by analyzing automated loan data and review of specific loan documents including but not limited to residential, commercial and agricultural promissory notes, mortgage/deed of trust, mortgage title policy, appraisal/valuation documentation, security agreements, UCC filings and other pertinent loan documents specific to the reviewed loans.
- For residential real estate loans, further determine collateral eligibility by analyzing credit-qualifying documentation such as credit reports, income and asset documents.
- Effectively interface with Member institutions to insure understanding of FHLB collateral policies and CVR procedures.
- Produce and maintain reports pertaining to CVRs conducted. Produce on as-needed basis various reports pertaining to overall Bank CVR activity and other related statistics/measures.
- Participates in special projects as required by Collateral Services, Banking Operations and Information Technology to ensure project deadlines and goals are met.
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of regulations and types of assets member institutions may pledge as collateral for advances. Effectively partner with other Bank departments to promote Bank products and services to our Members.
- Provide prompt, courteous service to all internal and external customers. Address customer needs and demands in a professional manner, and develop cooperative relationships.
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in business or accounting is preferred. A related college degree may be considered in addition to the experience requirement.
- 10+ years' experience actively engaged in lending or real estate asset management with emphasis on underwriting and/or valuation analysis of residential, commercial and agricultural loans. A related college degree may be considered in lieu of some of this experience requirement.
- Working knowledge of balance sheet and trial balances of banks, savings associations, insurance companies, and credit unions.
- Must be willing and able to travel out-of-town greater than 60%.
- Excellent research and analytical skills; a self-motivator is a must.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Excel is required. Additional proficiency in data querying/report writing tools and presentation software such as Microsoft Office applications and Power application are highly preferred.
