Collections Specialist

Mintel is looking for an outgoing Collections Specialist to focus on working directly with our US-based clients. This individual needs to have the ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, while focusing on strong customer relationships and teamwork.

This role will be required to report to our US headquarters office in Chicago, working a hybrid schedule with the preference of one day onsite per week. We require the individual to have eligible working rights in the United States. Interviews and onboarding are currently being conducted virtually.                                                                                                                                                

What You Will Be Doing:

• Contacting clients regarding delinquent accounts and collection of payments through various means, e.g. written correspondence, phone contact
• Determining and taking appropriate action for delinquency and non-payment of accounts
• Researching any account discrepancies and working with sales and support personnel to resolve issues and facilitate collections
• Recording all collection activity and ensuring prompt and systematic follow-up for all accounts
• Preparing weekly and monthly collection reports for management review
• Assisting with other projects on an as-needed basis, as directed by management
• Collaborating with leadership and team members to continuously evaluate best practices

• Skilled Collectors: You have the ability to maintain high collection rate on all accounts, able to handle difficult customers and unusual situations independently.
• Critical Thinking: You have the ability to apply objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form a judgment
• Adaptable: You have the ability to adapt to the changing business needs and manage multiple priorities, with the proven ability to multi-task, follow up, and meet deadlines.
• Tech Savvy: You carry proficiency with Microsoft Office Products; primarily Excel, and GP Dynamics knowledge is a plus.
• Detail Oriented: You have a high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Great Communicators: You have excellent written & verbal communication skills, working well independently as well as part of a team. Bi-lingual (Spanish or Portuguese) is a plus.
