The role
Medely is currently seeking a Collections Specialist to add to our growing Financial Operations team. This is a high impact, contributor role that will report directly to the Director, Accounts Receivable and will be responsible for managing day-to-day collections activities associated with a portfolio of approx. 650-800 accounts with a receivables balance ranging from $4M-$5M.
What you'll do:
Contact customers via phone (inbound/outbound) or email to resolve past due balances and reduce delinquency for assigned portfolio.Â
Be able to negotiate mutually acceptable agreements and overcome objections that customers may have about making payments toward their account and help them understand their responsibilities.
Provide thorough and accurate documentation to support collection attempts.
Facilitate the research and resolution of accounts receivable issues.
Enlist the efforts of Account Managers and Senior Management when necessary to accelerate the collection process.Â
Communicate and follow up effectively with other departments within Medely regarding customer accounts.
Support Cash Application as needed, with posting instructions for payments.
Support Credit Department with input on account risks.
Maintain excellent customer service internally and externally.
Who you are:Â
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or other analytical fields is preferred.
2 - 4 years of experience in B2B collections, experience in the healthcare industry is a plus.
Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.Â
Ability to deal with difficult situations in a diplomatic and professional manner.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.Â
Self-directed with a strong ability to multitask and prioritize.Â
Ability to organize workflow and use time efficiently.Â
High proficiency with MS Office including Excel (SUMIF, VLOOKUP, filtering, sorting and pivot tables), Outlook, SharePoint.
The estimated compensation for this role is $55,080 - $67,320
