What You Will Do

Our College Graduate Rotational Program (CGRP) is a 2 year program within the Product Engineering organization at our Clarios Headquarters located in Milwaukee, WI. The CGRP is designed to accelerate your early career development in the organization, build a strong network, and prepare you for the rigors of engineering and designing products aligned with the Clarios business strategy.

CGRP Specifics:
  • 2 year program with 4 rotational assignments lasting 6 months each.
  • Primary assignments include 1) Product Testing and Competitive Intelligence, 2) Chemical Process Development, and 3) System Design.
  • The 4th assignment may be within Core Design, Modeling, Requirements, Li-Ion Development, Vehicle Applications, Materials or to gain further unique experience in one of the required areas.
  • As part of the Systems Engineering or Chemical Process Development you will get to understand how our products are manufactured, how engineering decisions affect manufacturing cost and efficiency.
  • Upon successful completion of the CGRP, you will be placed into an engineering position within the Product Engineering organization.


Primary Duties:

Specific duties are subject to the requirements of each rotation and the objectives of the department where you work.

Typical duties are as follows:
  • Testing: Prepare test plans, conduct testing according to internal or customer specifications, and prepare reports on results.
  • Chemical Process Development Engineering: Learn and optimize the processes used to manufacture our batteries.
  • System design: Design responsibility on a lead-acid or lithium-ion new product development project.
  • Core design: Design responsibility on materials or component development of a lead-acid or lithium-ion project
  • Modeling: Development or application of CAE models for vehicle, battery, thermal, or electrochemical processes.
  • Requirements: Analyze the customer, industry, and regulatory requirements for energy storage systems to establish the performance targets for our products.
  • Vehicle Applications: Learn our energy storage systems are utilized in vehicles.
  • Work closely with your advisor to develop and agree on the rotation plan, report progress on rotation performance objectives and plan for transition from the CGRP to a longer-term position.
  • Develop competencies in the rotational areas to assist in your ability to perform on the job once you graduate the CGRP.


What We Look For:

Open to Undergraduate Seniors graduating in May 2022 (Program start date: June 2022). Sponsorship not available.
  • BS, or MS from an accredited college or university in one of the following disciplines: mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mechatronics engineering, electronics engineering, chemistry, chemical engineering, or mathematics.
  • Prior experience in the Clarios Product Engineering internship program is desired.
