College Loops Coordinator
Job Description
Girls Who Code is seeking a part-time, seasonal coordinator to support the College Loops program within the College & Careers team. The coordinator will support the program manager with three major bodies of work; communications, incentive fulfillment, and administrative support.
The ideal candidate for this role is very organized and possesses a strong customer service-oriented attitude.
ABOUT COLLEGE LOOPS
Girls Who Code College Loops are university-level networks for college-aged women interested in tech to support one another and help each other persist and succeed in the field. College Loops build belonging and community through meetings during the school year. Additionally, Loops can request funding for their activities and access our GWC platform, including helpful resources to start and maintain the Loop.
This is a part-time (10-20 hours per week), New York City-based seasonal position for the academic year (through May 2024).
The coordinator must commit to a minimum of five consistent hours per week during 9am-5pm EST Monday to Friday. For example: Mondays from 12-3pm and Thursdays from 12-2pm) for synchronous communication and collaboration. All other hours can be completed at the coordinator’s discretion.
This role will be remote, but at times will require one day in-office (midtown Manhattan) per month for shipping, packaging, or material prep.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications
-Field and answer student questions on Zendesk, GroupMe (texting) and Discord
-Post college & career opportunities on GroupMe and Discord
-Support program manager with preparation and distribution of monthly newsletter on Campaign Monitor
-Track and update list of College Loops’ social media accounts
-Track and share out social media content on our GWC Slack channel
Administrative Support
-Review and approve new Loop applications 3x/week, flag issues to program manager as needed
-Update the master list of College Loops 1-2/week
-Review and approve Loops Fund applications 2x/week
-Support with semesterly events, as needed (i.e. Welcome Event)
Incentive Fulfillment & Inventory
-Serve as primary contact for our merchandise vendors, Kotis and Snackbox
-Work with vendors to order new inventory or restock merchandise
-Monitor and track redemption codes for merchandise
-Coordinate with shipping companies for pickup, as needed (i.e. UPS, FedEx)
REQUIREMENTS:
- Fastidious record-keeping and organization skills
- Customer service oriented; possesses a helpful, can-do attitude
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to balance priorities
- Reliable, strong internet connection
- Language requirement: English
- Ability to meet with GWC team during 9am-5pm EST hours
- Able to come to the GWC office twice a month, or as needed, to coordinate merchandise shipment
