Job Summary
Responsible for providing strategic leadership and executive oversight to all aspects of the Software Development and Engineering department's projects and activities. Develops and implements strategies and works with project personal to develop project standards and performance metrics. Works with Supervisors and Managers to ensure all applications meet project specifications and requirements. Provides leadership and direction for team which may include multiple functional areas. Develops and implements strategy for functional area(s). May have responsibility for developing and managing budget.
Job Description
In this role, the Director will lead the design, development, deployment of security frameworks specially Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and also assist with Blockchain, and Cryptographic Access Tokens. The candidate will also collaborate with other developers within Comcast and the industry as well as business leaders to understand user requirements and desired features.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience and background in building and managing large scale PKI systems. As a Director, you will lead the team in all technical decisions throughout the design, development and release phases. Innovation is a huge part of the role as well as building/mentoring/coaching junior members of the technical staff.
You must be able to learn new languages and technologies quickly, be a strong standout colleague, and rapidly adapt to changing business and customer demands
Requirements:
- 15+ yrs professional experience crafting large-scale applications that served a large customer base
- 5+ experience with PKI technologies, standards, certification and 3rd party audits requirements
- Familiarity with common libraries and software design patterns
- Strong background in PKI, x509 v3 and RFC 5280
- Strong background in Cryptography Extensions, OpenSSL, EmbedTLS and Bouncy Castle libs
- Knowledge of source control systems (GitHub, Gerrit)
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (Jenkins, Concourse)
- Deep understanding of the HTTP/S protocol
- Experience with Agile/Scrum
- Experience with automated web application testing tools (Jasmine, Teaspoon, Cucumber)
- DevOps experience and hands on with Linux
- Experience communicating technical material to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience mentoring junior members of the technical staff
- A strong sense of ownership and responsibility for code quality that follows standard methodologies
- A strong passion for learning and adapting to new technologies
- Ability to think critically and independently
- Ability to work professionally in multi company open source industry projects
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Java, Python, Rust
- Database technologies such as SQL and noSQL
- AWS API's and Serverless architecture
- Experience with DevOps, Automated Testing and Continuous Delivery.
- Experience working with Internet-of-things frameworks or platforms (Apple HomeKit, Xfinity, Nest, AWS IOT, etc.)
- Experience building/operating applications dependent on large-scale (>10 MM users) platforms with high availability.
- Ability to manage several different projects and products of varying scale and priority with different teams, divisions and industry partners.
- Facilitate effective communication across all levels of the projects to ensure consistency in reaching the project's goal, and to help in the recognition of any potential opportunities, risks, dependencies or complications.
- The position will require hands on ability to work on PKI systems, including its clients.

Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree: Computer Engineering
