This is a Washington Air National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Bargaining Unit Technician position:
COMMAND AND CONTROL SPECIALIST
Location: 141st Air Refueling Wing
Fairchild AFB, Washington 99011-9413

MILITARY REQUIREMENTS:
Military Grades: E5
Compatible Military Assignments: 1C3X1
- Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the AFSC to apply or be considered for selection. Selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible Military position and attain AFSC within 1 year of appointment action.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must maintain membership in the WA Air National Guard for continued employment.
Qualifications
Experience, education, or training in following directives and regulations. Experience interpreting and applying published directives or regulations. Experience communicating with others.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
GS-09 - Must have at least 24 months or 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade. Experience, education, or training in mission planning for preflight, in-flight, ground or command and control (C2) duties according to specific transportation functions. Receives, interprets, extracts, and disseminates relevant data for mission planning or execution. Experience coordinating and negotiating with organizations/personnel both orally and in writing to resolve differences/problems.
Education
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degreeor
LL.B. or J.D., if related*Major study -- accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or other documentation of proof to support your Educational claims.
Additional information
- If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx).
- Military Technicians are ineligible for enlistment, retention, and student loan repayment bonuses. Acceptance of a Technician position will terminate these incentives.
- Military Technicians in the excepted service will wear the appropriate uniform while performing as a Technician.
- Veteran's preference does not apply to National Guard Technician positions in accordance with Title 32 USC 709 (f).
