Summary:
The Commercial Contract Operations Manager position is a valuable role in the company's growing Legal and Compliance organization and will lead a global team responsible for end-to-end contract lifecycle management. You will help identify, implement and support opportunities to optimize contract operations in support of Celonis' hypergrowth business. The main focus of the role is to perform specialized duties related to the preparation, review, negotiation and processing of commercial contracts and to serve as a liaison between Celonis' internal stakeholders, including Sales, Operations, Finance and Legal & Compliance departments. A successful candidate will be expected to provide pragmatic, creative, collaborative and solution-oriented legal support throughout the company. As a self-starting, experienced communicator and problem-solver, the Commercial Contract Operations Manager must be able to prioritize effectively and drive issues to resolution within a team environment focused on growth, execution and process improvement.
Responsibilities:
  • Effectively lead a global team of contract professionals, including overseeing day-to-day work, mentoring, hiring and training.
  • Validate all incoming contracts to support the correct booking of the deals.
  • Coordinate contract amendment process, including drafting of basic amendments.
  • Conduct research and create reports based on relevant contract metadata.
  • Support the implementation of and compliance with a contract deviation process.
  • Analyze contracts and provide advice related to our contractual obligations.
  • Identify and drive process improvement projects (including tools implementation projects) within the Legal team.
  • Support the organization and management of Legal department knowledge and records.
  • Assist with the analysis, tracking and reporting of Legal team statistics.
  • Prepare email correspondence, presentations, and internal and external communications, as requested.
  • Handle confidential and highly-sensitive information with professionalism and unquestionable integrity.
  • Conduct other Legal and ad hoc projects as required.

Requirements:
  • Impeccable attention to detail, well-organized and adept in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • High energy, strong project management skills and a positive attitude are critical.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and uncompromising ethical standards.
  • Ability to communicate and implement Legal strategies and overall company policy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Confidence in working and troubleshooting with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, escalate appropriately and multi-task.
  • Strong skill set working with office applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, Adobe, Docusign and Google Workspace.
  • Experience with CRM tools, contracts management software and electronic signature systems.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels and departments is imperative.

Education/Experience:
  • 7+ years legal operations, contract operations, contract management or contract administration positions.
  • 2+ years of functional or direct people management experience.
  • In-house technology company experience strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability with Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace and the ability to quickly learn and gain proficiency in new technologies.
  • Developed business acumen, with ability to understand the company's mission and anticipate the nature and magnitude of issues that could arise in various settings.
  • Business fluency in English required; a second language would be a significant plus.
