Job Summary
Provides administrative support to the Commercial Underwriting team including assistance with incoming correspondence, emails, phone calls, inspection requests, and faxes. Ideal candidate is experienced in handling Customer Service calls, review and process non-premium bearing endorsements, support the Citizens Imports, assist with rating, and order various underwriting reports, such as inspection requests, CLUEs, complete Marshall & Swift cost estimators and provide any other administrative support as needed by the Commercial department.
Duties and responsibilities
- Provides administrative support with new business activities and binding documents.
- Responsible for scanning and indexing of incoming faxes, correspondence, document upload items and commercial email inbox items, such as return mail.
- Handles Customer Service inquiries as part of the department phone queue
- Performs data entry with rating programs, Mail Merge Documents, and reviews and processes document uploads
- Provides administrative and data entry support with Citizens Take-Out policies
- Assists with processing non-premium bearing endorsements, requests for loss runs and AOR changes
- Complies with productivity, quality, file documentation requirements and service standards
- Other tasks and projects as may be assigned
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to use computer systems to support new business activity and binding documents
- Ability to answer the telephone and engage in live chats through computer software programs to provide customer service support for agents and policyholders with the Commercial Lines products
- Ability to think critically, research and assess risk, and make informed decision
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to keyboard 45 wpm minimum for data entry purposes
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of administrative support in commercial property and casualty insurance.
- Knowledge of Commercial Underwriting department policies, procedures, and terminology
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills and systems knowledge
- Ability to multi-task efficiently and work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent customer service skills and phone etiquette
- 440 License, or the ability to obtain a 440 license if necessary
- High School Graduate or Equivalent

Working conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
