Commercial HVAC Mechanic/Helper

Position Summary: The Commercial HVAC Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role ensures that all HVAC systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards. Key Responsibilities: • Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including rooftop units, chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps, and controls. • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using appropriate testing equipment. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. • Replace defective components such as compressors, motors, belts, bearings, and fans. • Calibrate thermostats, sensors, and control systems. • Maintain detailed service records and work orders. • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and local mechanical codes. • Collaborate with other trades and contractors as needed for system integration and upgrades.
