Job Description
Kytopen is streamlining the engineering of a wide array of human and human-derived cells for use in next-generation cell therapies, with the goal of expanding access to powerful new living medicines. We enable transformative therapies with our patent-pending continuous Flowfect® cell engineering platform. The non-viral Flowfect® technology is a fast, scalable, and gentle process that yields billions of high-quality engineered cells in minutes while maintaining cell health and function. We seek passionate, pioneering individuals to join the team on this mission.Â
We’re looking for a Commercial Leader to lead the development of our commercial pipeline and manage the day-to-day strategy and execution of our commercial activities (marketing, business development, customer engagement, field service). You will be responsible for bringing our cutting-edge life sciences products and solutions to market, forging strong relationships with customers, and leading a dynamic customer-facing team. Your expertise will be essential in further establishing our company as a key player in the industry, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the company. What you’ll be doing:Â

Strategy Development and Execution: Collaborate with the leadership team to define and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectivesÂ

Business Development: Identify high value customers for our pipeline and align our solution with their needs.

Commercial Team Management: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team to meet and exceed revenue targets, develop and nurture relationships with key customers and stakeholders in the industry, gather customer feedback and insights to refine product offerings, enhance customer experience, inform product development efforts, address customer concerns, resolve issues, and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.Â

Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with R&D, product development, and operations teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and product roadmap. Work with finance and operations teams to develop accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and resource allocation plans.Â

Performance Measurement and Reporting: Track and analyze sales performance, market share, and other relevant metrics to assess the effectiveness of commercial strategies. Prepare regular reports and presentations for the executive team and stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions.Â
What we’re looking for:Â

Proven track record of success and at least 15 years of experience that includes leadership/management within cell & gene therapy (C>) or another related life sciences or biotechnology industryÂ

A strong product marketing background, demonstrated by successful commercial pipeline development in C> industryÂ
-
Strong understanding of C> products, technologies, and industry trends, and strong existing relationships within the industry. Ability to translate technical language into customer-facing messaging.

Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful commercial strategies.Â

Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Â

Ability and experience presenting strategy, performance metrics, and risks to executive leadership and board of directorsÂ
-
Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.Â
-
Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights, including defining and tracking critical performance metrics (KPIs).Â
-
Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Â
-
Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend conferences, and collaborate with remote teams.Â
