The Role
We are seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional to join our Trading and Execution team as a Commission Management Analyst. This person will be comfortable working both independently as well as liaising across multiple teams within the organization. A successful candidate will have a passion for deriving insights from large datasets, building relationships with our sellside partners, and designing reporting suites for our internal group managers. The candidate will understand trading commissions across various macro and fixed income products, especially futures and options.
What you’ll do
As a Commission Management Analyst, you will work alongside the Director of Commission Management to help manage and maintain the global commission wallet, including the negotiation of commission rates and the design and build of a cross-product commission rate database and reporting tool. This is a highly analytical role involving the preparation of both internal and external reporting relating to trends in commission spend by business unit, region, and broker. You will also need a high level of professionalism and presentation skill to participate in both internal and external meetings with senior personnel.
Responsibilities will include:
- Negotiating commission rates upon entering new markets, onboarding new brokers, and trading new products
- Designing and maintaining a suite of reports for strategy leadership teams and Trading Desk
- Preparing materials for and participating in cadenced business reviews with sellside partners
- Helping design and build a global database of commission rates for each strategy, broker, market, and product traded
- Communicating with and building relationships with sell side coverage teams to understand market trends and competitive landscape
- Working alongside Legal and Operations teams to paper give up agreements
- Refining commission capture logic for spread products traded by Macro and Fixed Income teams
- Creating materials for and participating in Brokerage Committee meetings
What you’ll bring
What you need:
- Understanding of buy side & sell side execution dynamics
- 2-4 years of experience working on the buy or sell side with knowledge of futures products
- Ability to use data to deliver concise and actionable insights
- Proficiency in Excel
- Intellectually curious, goal-oriented and process-driven with strong attention to detail
- Experience creating and leading presentations; Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written form
We’d love if you had:
- Direct experience with futures products
- Experience with Macro and Fixed Income products (FX, Rates, Credit, etc.)
- Experience in relational database management systems (i.e., SQL)
- Experience in self-reporting tools (PowerBi, Tableau, etc.)
