Position Overview
The ACS Sales Commission Manager role carries the responsibility of managing a team of commission analysts who support sales teams and partners with Sales Finance Business Partners/Finance Directors, and the sales team to ensure the accurate and timely payment and accrual of sales commission. This position should closely coordinate with the Global Commission Office and will work with peers in other GEO's and the Global Commission Senior Manager to ensure global alignment.
This role is expected to lead and mentor a team of analysts to ensure that the sales teams supported by the commission analyst on the team are paid accurately and on time. This role is also responsible for understanding the commission forecast and partnering with Finance on commission models and forecast requests as needed.
The Commission Manager will be the SME for their GEO, working with Finance Business Partners, Sales Managers, Finance Directors, Sales teams, and Sales Compensation to implement the approved sales compensation plan correctly and effectively.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the End-to-End Commission Process for Team
- Manage the teams comp plan (TTS) creation process, ensuring compliance with the approved comp plan and crediting rules
- Ensure all variable commissions are paid in accordance with sales comp plan and earnings
- Understand the sales compensation plan and ensure its implemented correctly by the team
- Ensures Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) compliance for team
Acts as a SME to the Team
- Understand the crediting rules and special considerations by team and ensures these are implemented correctly
- Provides commentary and explanation for payments and earnings
- Implement and review commission analyst packages, makes sure that payments are submitted correctly, any outliers are understood/correct, and approves payments
- Understands commission forecast and identifies gaps between commission and billings forecast, as well as visibility to the manual components of the commission forecast
- Prioritize and coordinate enhancements and maintenance of the compensation management system as it relates to ACS end user requests and issues
Manage a Team of Analysts
- Responsible for development of the team of analysts - ensures each person on the team has a plan and opportunities for development
- Coaches and trains
- Ensures the teams activities are in accordance with the organization's priorities
- Handle staffing and training of the team
- Gives feedback to the team
- Professionally delivers communication and manages conflict; encourages constant learning and improvement
Effective Communicator
- Liaison between analyst team and other stakeholders (WW Commission Sr. Manager, sales managers, Finance, etc)
- Ensures team understands the "big picture" and helps them model and prioritize their own work to meet goals
- Initiative to improve processes: looks for ways to drive improvement and leads implementation
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Finance or experience in related field
- 5+ years' experience in a sales commission or compensation role
- 1-2 years' people management experience preferred; managing remote teams a plus
- 3+ years' experience with a compensation management tool; Forma SPM a plus
- Proficient in data analysis using MS excel; SQL a plus
- Experience with tools such as Workday, Netsuite, SAP a plus
- Ability to wear multiple hats including being team leader as well as leader of a cross-functional team
- Strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to break down complex problems into component parts; proven ability to lead and enjoy both strategic and tactical work
- Excellent at project management with the ability to dive into a matter, understand the needs, and facilitate decisions
- Independent, detail-oriented problem solver with demonstrated experience in developing and improving processes amidst ambiguity as well as working with limited resources and supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communicator with the ability to work well with executives, and influence across various levels of an organization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Target Pay for this Position (Colorado): $120k
