About The Role & Team

We are looking for a Commissions FP&A Manager who will play a vital role in supporting the end-to-end global sales commissions plan: from modeling the semi-annual incentive compensation plan structure and the impact of sales program incentives to orchestrating the monthly commissions calculations. This role will partner closely with Amplitude’s Finance and Revenue Operations teams. The position will report to the Manager of Sales and Operations Finance. 

 As the Commissions FP&A Manager, you will: 

  • Lead the monthly commission cycle, while ensuring both accuracy and timely completion of the calculation in compliance with the commission plan.
  • Be the subject matter expert on the finance team in reviewing the impact of compensation structures and sales program incentives and analyzing the effectiveness of compensation plans to appropriately incentivize the business to align with corporate objectives while staying within an approved budget
  • Partner with the Revenue Operations team in maintaining monthly commission reporting and modeling outcomes
  • Bring best practices to develop, implement, and manage policies and processes that scale our financial and revenue operations

You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, economics, or other relevant field
  • 4+ years of experience in finance and sales incentive compensation planning roles with direct responsibility of calculating sales commissions
  • General understanding of GAAP accounting rules related to deferred commissions and ASC 606
  • Ability to meet tight timelines around the monthly close process
  • Self-starter capable of driving business results without significant supervision
  • Rigorous and detailed orientated with the highest regard for accuracy and completeness
  • Strong analytical background with the ability to creatively solve problems with math and a data-driven approach

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $116,000 - $174,000 salary inclusive of variable bonus.

Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $145,000 - $218,000 base salary inclusive of variable bonus.
Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $145,000 - $218,000 base salary inclusive of variable bonus.
Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range:  $116,000 - $174,000 salary inclusive of variable bonus.
Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range:  $116,000 - $174,000 salary inclusive of variable bonus.
Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
