Who You Are: The role of Commodities Analyst will play a critical part in identifying and leveraging global marketplace conditions based upon Nutrabolt’s requirements for nutraceutical raw materials for all product forms and business segments. The Commodities Analyst will work closely and proactively with both internal and external representatives on availability, location, source, and first sale cost inclusive of material approval needs to support new product development efforts and mature product offerings, contributing expertise to all projects and other activities where necessary. 

What You're Good At:

  • Providing proactive cost report analysis, projections, and evaluations for strategic sourcing improvements and opportunities related to direct to buy materials
  • Understanding and monitoring all ingredient commitments and their respective timing for re-assessment and re-contracting
  • Quarterly updates of commodity profiles and market analysis research reports
  • Prepping and creating for execution through Procurement leadership, legal, and external suppliers, raw material contractual addendums
  • Collecting, interpreting, and reporting on supply market intelligence and implications of finished good costs related to and derived from multiple industry indices
  • Working closely with supply planning and purchasing to review forecasts to verify direct to buy ingredients will maintain adequate supply
  • Owning and managing Nutrabolt’s raw material and packaging BOM forecasting tool and usage tracker, making informed recommendations on when to buy, from where, and in which quantity by ingredient type
  • Contributing to the execution and monitoring of commodity risk management strategies
  • Determining product cost of goods sold from commodity categories to support the Procurement and Finance teams on PPV modeling and cost change impact
  • Assuming responsibility with direction from procurement leadership on any RFQ’s along with suggestion of spot purchases where necessary
  • In this role your goals and KPIs will be focused around:
    • Working closely with Strategic Sourcing, Production Planning & Purchasing, New Product Development, Finance and Quality leaders to ensure Nutrabolt is receiving the most competitive landed cost by ingredient while guaranteeing supply continuity globally
    • Supplier relationship management, risk mitigation, contingency planning, and oversight of key progress reports
    • Implementation of strategies laid out by senior leadership to directly impact Nutrabolt’s AOP, including raw material providers alignment through QA/QC processes and procedures, and play an active role in resolution of crisis level issues tied to commodities if they arise

What You Contribute: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Finance preferred.
    • 3+ years of experience or interactive exposure in a procurement/supply chain/sourcing/analytics role
    • Experience in fast paced CPG environment is a plus
    • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with the ability to articulate and formulate a valid conclusion and recommendation.
    • Integrity in actions and decisions, always exhibiting the highest level of best in class ethical practices within procurement.
