Position: Communication Coordinator

Reports to: Employee Engagement Leader

Supports: Operations

Location: Fort Valley, GA

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Communication Coordinator will provide support in driving the Operation leadership team's strategy down to the factory floor. The assist with influencing Blue Bird's culture and vision through employee engagement efforts such as employee communications, surveys, focus groups, and workshops and activities.

With a focus on the Three Blue Bird Foundational Objectives: Take Care of Employees : Delight Customers & Dealers : Deliver Profitable Growth, this role will spend time assessing Blue Bird's culture, identifying problems in areas such as communication, teamwork, facility hygiene, and recognition, and partner with key leaders to develop and execute strategies to address improvement opportunities.

The Communication Coordinator is employee-centric and remains focused on employee well-being as the top priority.

Deliverables:

  • Work with leaders across our factories at the shop floor level to develop and deploy a robust and agile approach to employee engagement
  • Develop and lead the Employee Engagement Calendar and activities associated with employee engagement
  • Support the recognition program
  • Support critical workflows of information and activity in the engagement space
  • Support projects to improve employee engagement across stakeholder groups with engagement in one-on-one meetings with employees, focus groups, workshops, trainings and other methods
  • Focus and deliver a culture of: Let's work and grow together.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure a culture that fosters profitable growth personal development as a motivator
  • Analyze employee engagement activities in a manner that focuses on feedback as an opportunity to improve and touches on:

  • Recognition opportunities
  • Commitment to growth and long-term success
  • Reflection on past performance and progress
  • Set up goals for employee activities and reflections on successes/opportunities to improve
  • Achieving greater satisfaction and motivation of the entire workforce
  • Partner with the HR team to gather, synthesize and develop approaches for employee engagement insights can include:

    • Characteristics of engaged employees
    • Specific skills that prove to be useful
    • Warning signs
    • Trends for hiring purposes, develop purposes and overall employee wellbeing

Requirements:

The Communications Coordinator must bring a mixture of knowledge and experience to the table.

  • Minimum of three years of demonstrated success in the employee engagement space within a manufacturing setting
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, Teams and PowerPoint
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and manage multiple projects successfully in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivery of quality/accurate work products
  • Logical reasoning and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with different levels of the organization to negotiate, problem solve, complete projects and influence decision making
  • Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and within teams in order to establish and meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Bachelor Degree in Psychology; Organizational Development or related field preferred
