JOB SUMMARY: The Communications Specialist supports a broad range of communication activities including working with stakeholders across the business to execute communication plans and strategies under the direction of the Communications and Training Manager. This role supports the effective flow of communication between the business, its customers, and employees through the management of communication channels, platforms, and short- and long-term communication plans.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Implement effective communication strategies and plans for a wide range of projects and initiatives tailored for internal and external audiences.
  • Develop content and strategies for the company's intranet, extranet, website, marketing materials, and social media.
  • Assess and measure the effectiveness of the business's internal and external communication channels, platforms, and messages and adjust strategy as appropriate.
  • Working with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, coordinate and source content of interest to staff and customers for intranet and extranet. Ensure content on platforms is kept current and processes are followed.
  • Suggest promotional campaign ideas to drive business goals leveraging various mediums including print, digital, video, and web.
  • Support leadership and departments in drafting and editing content as needed for internal and external audiences.
  • Manage the company's website and social media presence and monitor analytics.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree, in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field combined with at least 3-5 years' experience in a similar role including developing communication plans and content.
  • Excellent writing, editing verbal and visual communication skills combined with an ability to work comfortably with high-ranking executives.
  • Detail oriented and strategic thinker able to create comprehensive and creative communication plans to reach targeted audiences and drive business goals.
  • Able to translate complex topics, particularly technology concepts, into understandable content for busy audiences of various reading and comprehension levels.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities while still producing high quality results. Ability to lead small projects and execute events independently; able to lead and work with others to produce results
  • Comfortable learning and managing various technology platforms including website content management system, 365, Teams, SharePoint Online, intranet and extranet.
  • Experience working with IT teams to draft and edit communications a plus.
  • Project management experience and/or team management experience a plus.
  • Adept at working with all levels within an organization including executive leadership a plus.
  • Photoshop/Adobe/digital content creation skills a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Typical noise levels for an open, cubicle-styled environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position requires periods of standing, walking, and the use of computer equipment. Additional physical demands include, but may not be limited to, talking or hearing, push/pull, stooping, kneeling, reaching w/hands and arms, and lifting at least 10 pounds.
