As a Communications Advisor within PNC's Business Communications organization, you you may be based within the following markets: Pittsburgh, PA.

This is a hybrid position which provides flexibility to work both in the office and remotely. Certain job responsibilities may require time in the office on a regular basis.

We currently are seeking a Communications Advisor to join our Business Communications team in providing external communications support for our three core lines of business -- Retail Banking and Lending, Asset Management Group, and Corporate and Institutional Banking.

The Business Communications Line of Business External Communications Advisor is a member of the Corporate Communications team of approximately 90 professionals, supporting the bank's lines of business on communications trends and needs in support of LOB and PNC Bank business objectives. This individual plays a hands-on role in the execution of a results-oriented and holistic external strategic communications program that advances PNC's business reputation, broadens awareness, and increases the visibility across external stakeholder audiences including customers, analysts, and media outlets. In addition, this individual will closely collaborate on internal communications.

Responsibilities:• Support the implementation of a robust and holistic communications program to position PNC as an industry leader • Stay apprised of external industry communications and banking trends, support current and future communications opportunities and help with preparation for media interviews and engagement • Collaborate with Corporate Communications, our Regional Presidents' Organization, Regional Communications teams, and Marketing to ensure line of business external communications are aligned across the organization, including in social media channels, and thought leadership content• Develop proactive announcements and supporting materials; assist with media outreach and responses to • Leverage data and results to inform line of business-specific recommendations, future communications strategies and to measure the effectiveness of campaigns• Assist with crisis/reactive communications as-needed on business-specific issues, including customer, media and other stakeholder communications as required• Contribute to a high-performance culture built on teamwork, trust and a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and learning

Qualifications:• Bachelor's degree in business or communications-related field• 3-5+ years of experience in corporate communications or public relations with financial industry experience highly preferred• Experience with digital/online and social media communications channels• Strong writer and editor; excellent story telling capability and ability to develop content that resonates across multiple external communications platforms • Solid media experience; record of proactive, earned media placements

Job Description

  • Implements strategic priorities and initiatives. Consults on a variety of internal and external communications.
  • Consults in the implementation of communication strategies; plans, researches, and develops of content for increasingly complex communications initiatives.
  • Identifies issues and opportunities, consults with organization on all aspects of communication, and engages other parts of the organization to ensure strategic alignment, clarity, and accuracy of message.
  • Coordinates final review and approval before internal or external communications are released.
  • May lead project teams, influences outcomes, and evaluates success as appropriate.
  • Leads preparation and synthesis of communications data; presents to management for decisioning.

Organizational Communications - Knowledge of and ability to utilize the means, tools, techniques and media to communicate information about the organization internally and externally.

Planning: Tactical, Strategic - Ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 3+ years of relevant / direct industry experience. Certifications are often desired. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
