We're searching for our next Communications Associate who is a proven writer, project leader, and multi-format communicator with an interest in helping a security focused organization achieve their communications goals. This role requires a communications background in the public sector and will focus on strategic communications activities that supports a critical component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Strong candidates will have experience supporting clients with planning and successfully executing public facing communications activities, taskings and high-quality deliverables, and demonstrated capabilities writing communications materials for both internal and external audiences. Experience supporting government communications and program operations is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic communications and public relations support for a variety of security related campaigns within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
• Assist in developing and executing marketing and communications strategies for new or expanding security related programs and initiatives.
• Develop a variety of communications materials to support agency programs and initiatives. Materials may include fact sheets, press releases and advisories, toolkits, presentations, social media content, infographics, flyers, brochures, talking points and other communications products.
• Coordinate cross-agency material approvals and distributions.
• Assist with the authoring, proofing and quality control of communications materials and other project documentation.
• Review content and publications for content, grammar, syntax, and formatting.
• Attend client meetings and provide strategic recommendations for improving communications.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree.
• Minimum of four (4) years of demonstrated experience in: writing and editing communication materials, providing communications support in a similar field or agency, and working collaboratively with clients, contractors for other firms and/or project team members.

Professional Skills:

• Ability to obtain a public trust security clearance or higher.
• Ability to work in a remote setting and respond in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity and infrastructure security policies and principles.
• Knowledge of integrated communications, client relations, and public relations.

Preferred Skills and experience:

• Excellent communication skills, especially written.
• Strong operational planning, research and organizational abilities.
• Consultancy, corporate or government agency experience preferred.
• Self-starter, with ability to manage tasks and handle multiple priorities.

Job Location(s): This position is located in either ICF's Reston, VA or Rockville, MD office in a hybrid telework arrangement. This position requires the successful candidate reside and complete all work within the continental United States due to contract requirements.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:

$56,467.00 - $95,993.00
