As the first Communications Designer at Opto, you will play a central role in helping to shape and evolve our brand. You will be one of the central tastemakers, ensuring that every touchpoint that a user encounters is thoughtfully and elegantly designed and consistent with our brand.Â
We are looking for a creative lead who can ensure creative excellence across our corporate communications. You will collaborate closely with the product, content, investment, and advisory services teams to create best-in-class digital and print materials to put our best foot forward and build our reputation as the highest quality brand in the private investment space.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Visual design and direction for fund marketing, shareholder reporting, company storytelling, and other marketing initiatives.Â
- Evolving our design system to optimize for the various formats that our brand shows up (digital, print, events, video).
- Development of infographics, charts, and other visual assets to tell a clear and visually compelling story without our content pieces.Â
- Supporting the advisory services team with visuals and narratives that help wealth managers and their clients understand complex investment topics in a clear and intuitive way.
- Creation of illustrations, charts, presentations, animations, and other visualizations in close collaboration with marketing, sales, product, and the investment team.Â
You are passionate about and skilled in the creative process, from concept to the final deliverable. You love collaborating teams and stakeholders across the company and converting ideas into beautiful, high quality designs that resonate with your audience. You have a thorough understanding of branding and marketing, with the ability to vary style and layouts depending on the project.Â
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience designing brand identities, grid systems, editorial layouts and applications for web, desktop and mobile at a fast-growing company.
- Deadline-driven. You are responsible, well-organized, and can move fast to create high quality content in an evolving environment.
- Content marketing. Experience with content marketing and working on a brand from an early stage.
- Storytelling. Ability to break down complex concepts and explain and visualize them simply via illustration, infographic, or animation.
- Adaptable. Experienced working across a wide variety of marketing channels including media, influencer marketing, and content within a startup environment with limited resourcesÂ
- Self-learning. You are able to learn new tools quickly and work in a fast evolving environment.
- Graphic design. You have a proven ability of delivering high quality designs to customers, using Figma, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.
Bonus Skills
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in the graphic design field.
- Animation. Ability to use AfterEffects or other animations tools to tell stories visually with motion.Â
