Position responsibilities
- The Communications & Engagement Manager partners with the COO and senior leadership to create and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy for the Midwest Series
- This position will manage and perform all aspects of marketing, communications, and brand management to support series growth, transformation, and culture
- Manage marketing and communications strategy to include website, social media, and brand presence on behalf of the Series
- In coordination with the Kansas City Communications team, implement a brand image strategy to drive client and candidate growth and create brand recognition within the community
- Manage oversight of marketing materials to ensure brand consistency. This includes prospective client materials, including RFP responses, business meeting pitch and prep, client presentations, etc.
- Design and coordinate internal events, meetings and special initiatives aimed to connect, celebrate, and inspire Associates across in-person, virtual, and hybrid work environments
- Develop and manage an internal events calendar designed to connect and inspire a distributed workforce and build internal awareness of Midwest cultural and community initiatives
- Support United Way Committee, Associate Resource Groups (ARGs) and other key cross-functional leaders, ensuring internal initiatives/events are aligned to brand and celebrated across internal channels like Workplace
- Supports Series Producers and Associates with community engagement efforts
- Advise senior leadership on new opportunities for increased engagement across the series and in different geographies
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Position qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in a business-related field with specialization in Marketing or Communications preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of relevant marketing or communications experience required; insurance industry experience a plus
- 2 or more years of event planning experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning, scheduling, negotiating, proofreading, organizational, writing, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate project goals and objectives, project status and deliverables with team members and management, including senior executives
- Adaptable, self-motivated, flexible team player
- Strong attention to detail required
- Strong internal and external customer service skills, along with the ability to develop good relationships with Producers and Associates
- Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and be away from home more than one day and night
- Legally able to work in the United States
