Communications Lead, Group & Specialty Business

Humana's Marketing Organization is seeking a Communications Lead to join the Corporate Communications team. In this role, the Communications Lead will develop, coordinate and execute communications strategies in support of Humana's Group and Specialty insurance businesses. You'll serve as a counselor to business leadership ensuring our communications strategies and tactics help drive results for the Group and Specialty businesses.

Responsibilities

As the Communications Lead, you will play a key leadership role in building and driving internal and external communications campaigns and will direct a broad range of communication activities across a variety of channels to maximize messaging opportunities and effectiveness. This role will not have direct reports (could be subject to change) but will lead project teams.

Importantly, this role will be a thought partner, advising leaders on communications strategies (often market specific) on matters of significance to drive awareness, engagement, reputation and growth on behalf of Humana's Group and Specialty businesses. The Lead will exhibit outstanding independent judgment and decision making on complex issues related to communications, work under minimal supervision and be able to analyze a variety of factors when determining the best course of action to deliver on the communications goals and objectives.

Key Role Functions

• Create integrated communications platforms for diverse internal and external audiences, from day-to-day business partners to key external stakeholders
• Build strong alignment with cross-functional colleagues on internal and external communications strategies and content prioritization
• Advise teams and leaders on best practices and proven communication approaches that enable business objectives, and deliver the tactical plans and communications materials to support them
• Counsel business partners on communication strategies and execution, recommending innovative ways for teams to connect with internal and external stakeholders
• Present exceptional writing and project management skills with keen attention to detail across all tasks and deliverables
• Demonstrate a strong track record of developing successful strategies and content for internal and external communication channels
• Leverage data, analytics and feedback from stakeholders to inform strategy and decision making
• Work in close collaboration with external vendors and partners to deliver against plans and goals

This is a remote role working anywhere in the U.S. and may require quarterly travel.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or related field
• 7+ years of communications experience
• Self-organized - can independently plan, lead and implement integrated communications projects
• Ability to work under tight deadlines, multitask and deliver quality work under pressure
• Exceptional written and interpersonal communications skills
• Adept at data and analytics, as well as emerging practices and technologies
• Proactive, flexible and always seeking improvement and positive change
• Ability to influence

• Advanced skills using O365 suite, including Teams and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare/insurance communications experience
• Experience working in a large, matrixed organization

Additional Qualifications

Covid-19 Vaccine/Testing Requirement

Humana and its subsidiaries require vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility or while working in the field.

• Must ensure designated work area is free from distractions during work hours and virtual meetings
