We are seeking a seasoned communications professional with experience in creating, implementing, and overseeing communications strategy to join our North America Commercial HVAC team. This position will have direct communication with business leaders across the various high-level business offerings of Equipment, Controls and Service. The position will oversee communications programs that effectively describe and promote the organization and its products.

Specific Tasks Include
  • Oversee all external and internal communications for the organization, ensuring messaging is consistent and engaging
  • Develop and manage the relationship with trade publications and journalists for increased public relations opportunities
  • Follow industry (trade organizations, competitors, publishers, customers, etc.) activity and adjust/respond as/if appropriate
  • Through various PR channels position the organization in a positive, credible manner
  • Work with leadership on internal communication messages and distribution for effectiveness
  • Manage earned media monitoring, tracking, and reporting
  • Organize and engage targeted media list to promote new products/services and awards/accolades
  • Develop and manage social media strategy for business
  • Work in concert with various marketing managers to write, collect and/or edit posts regarding products, systems, software, training, case studies, applications, events, history, key wins, etc.
  • Identify links and/or source imagery, as appropriate
  • Produce multimedia content, as needed
  • Manage approvals/distribution of posts and responses
  • Track and communicate account and post activity


Overarching Requirements/Skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications skills and the ability to communicate with people at all levels of the organization, business partners, and vendors
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills are essential
  • Technology skills include expertise with Microsoft Office programs (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel), along with earned media analytical tools
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Self-motivation and the ability to take initiative, but also to be a strong teammate
  • Solid organizational and time management skills
  • The ability to work with urgent deadlines, change priorities, and manage multiple high-priority assignments simultaneously
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media


Education

BA/BS degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field with 5-7 years' relevant communications experience

Qualifications
  • Communications experience with 5-7 years experience in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact within a cross-functional team of Engineering, Sales, Product Management, and Marketing professionals
  • Strong writing and project management skills
  • Successful experience in leading teams and working in a matrix environment
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while also able to manage multiple priorities
  • Sense of urgency, self-initiative, commitment, and sense of ownership
  • Superior follow-up and follow-through skills


Ability to travel ~5% to quarterly customer regional meetings, annual distribution conferences, customer or distributor site visits, and vendor/supplier visits
