Communications Manager
Job Description
ADP is hiring a Communications Manager. In this position, you'll be a key writer that creates content to be distributed to our own ADP associates and clients in ADP's mid-market (Major Accounts) business.
This role will be responsible for writing executive-level communications, often assisting with the communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership, to both clients and associates; creating event and meeting scripts; and serving as a liaison between the business and the communications team - helping balance priorities, timelines, resources, and capacity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage internal and external communications (emails, newsletters, blogs, and more) which include writing, content design and more.
- Assist in the communication strategic direction for the business - Determine the game-plan to drive overall approaches across defined audiences with appropriate messaging.
- Analyze and report out on email performance (read rate, open rate, engagement, overall effectiveness)
- Comfortable managing multiple projects by helping intake and evaluate work requests, balancing work in queue and stakeholder expectations to help set priorities for success.
- Support ADP MAS leadership in effectively communicating key product, service, pricing, compliance and other functionally led initiatives.
- Leverage both quantitative and qualitative insight to build value-additive offerings
- Identify opportunities to maximize communication effectiveness using ADP tools and technology.
- Work closely with internal resources and leadership across ADP, while receiving critical feedback, to effectively deliver desired results.
- Collaborate with marketing and other groups to produce easily digestible copy for associates.
- Assist with business unit events, programs and initiatives as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in written communications - corporate communications, preferred.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written), negotiation, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite - or other multimedia editing software
- Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills for handling multiple and conflicting activities
EXPECTATIONS
- Minimum of five years of related experience in communication, creative writing, public relations or role that focuses on creating targeted and measured programs for internal and external partners
- Regularly produce highly visible material for the organization in various forms - speeches, presentations, announcements, etc.
- Enjoy working on multiple projects and processes in a fast-paced and ever-shifting environment
- Can balance stakeholder expectations and carefully speak with senior leaders about priority work for successful capacity planning
- Believe in the importance of writing in a corporate tone - applying empathy and a "human" voice to communications - while layering in AP style flawlessly
- You have handled highly sensitive confidential information with the utmost ethical practice
- Strategic thinker with broad perspective and, at the same time, demonstrates an acute attention to detail and ability to execute flawlessly
- Experience working collaboratively in matrix environments and managing external partners
- Commitment to being accountable
- Ability to think independently and make decisions
- Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of comfort collaborating with senior leaders and across different functional groups
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have the following:
- Experience in copywriting and editorials
- Previous experience in content production and strategy
- Previous experience with PoilteMail, Eloqua or Salesforce email platform
- Solid understanding of project management principles
- Previous leadership experience in communications or related field
