Job Description

Frost Brown Todd LLP, a national law firm with 1000+ legal and business professionals in sixteen offices, is currently searching for a full-time Communications Manager to join our Marketing Department.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the architect for firm communications, both internally and externally, to ensure message alignment and proactiveness where appropriate.
  • Protecting the Firm's reputation by controlling and navigating policies for various situations or crises.
  • Proactively communicating with media outlets both within and outside the firm's footprint, pitching story ideas to drive firm awareness.
  • Collaborating with the attorneys and other members of the department to produce various communications and mailings about the firm's services to be distributed as hard copy or electronically through Vuture, leveraging the firm's CRM tool.
  • Leveraging existing content and working with other Marketing Department team members to identify opportunities to further communicate our service offerings.
  • Providing public relations services such as media talking points, press releases, press conference coordination, etc.
  • Providing and assisting with writing, editing and proofreading of attorney announcements, alerts, articles, press releases, website content and other marketing-related communications.
  • Managing the firm's Copywriter to assist with writing, editing, and proofreading of firm marketing collateral as needed.
  • Managing the firm's Internal Communications Specialist to ensure that internal communications are aligned with the goals and objectives of leadership, and that the Firm is leveraging internal opportunities externally where appropriate.
  • Researching audience preferences and using that data to inform communication strategies.
  • Understanding future trends in digital technologies and acting proactively to use those tools that may be applicable.
  • Working with the firm's digital marketing strategist to maintain the firm website, creating or updating press releases, case studies, "In the News" items, and other web content.
  • Working closely with IT services to leverage the firm's intranet system and being a key participant in change management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, and/or communications or relevant field required.
  • Minimum 6-9 years' experience in a public relations position required.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment strongly desired.
  • Must have an understanding of social media, blogging, etc. and how those platforms fit into a corporate environment.
  • Experience with Cision, Vuture, and InterAction preferred.
  • Trusted with confidentiality at the highest level.
  • Must be able to lead and manage several tasks simultaneously and produce high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be highly organized, possess strong planning skills and be detail oriented.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate by e-mail, telephone and in person to provide information with courtesy and tact.
  • Demonstrate strong analytics thinking capabilities.
  • Must be able to make decisions and adapt to changing work situations and must be able to grasp and apply new ideas.
  • Must be able to supervise others and have sound judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours and take on various assignments to help meet department goals.
