Manages and oversees the creation, content and dissemination of all internal communications (written and electronic) to employees. Also responsible for the creation and execution of business communication strategies.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
  • Manages the development and implementation of new and existing marketing communication vehicles and delivery of communications in support of enterprise priorities that influence internal and external audiences, integrate messaging opportunities across the enterprise and enable branch-level messaging.
  • Works closely with internal communications and individual business area leaders to develop, prepare, and disseminate internal communications for the company including, but not limited to, organizational changes, company news briefings and updates, industry news, etc.
  • Works with senior management to prepare their speeches, presentations and articles.
  • Participates in the development of communication plans and strategies for the company.
  • Manages communication development from inception through completion including content, editorial, legal approval, sign-off from all stakeholders and distribution of messages.
  • Approves content and edits communications materials.
  • Partners with other areas of internal and external communications on delivery of content in support of larger communications strategies.
  • Stays current on trends and developments within the communications fields.

Reporting Relationship
Director or above
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Solid knowledge of the company and the insurance industry.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills and ability to translate technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise prose appropriate for various targeted audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business related software.
  • Detail oriented and self-motivated team player.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications or related field or its equivalent.
  • Typically a minimum of seven years related experience.
