MITRE's Nuclear Enterprise Programs Division has an excellent opportunity supporting the modernization of our nation's strategic deterrence through continuous improvement of our sponsors software development capabilities and system architecture. Our work focuses on nuclear deterrence and the technical capabilities of the mission systems. Be part of a dynamic technical team having substantial impact on the design and development of next generation DoD systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Developing technical solutions to complex technical challenges in the areas of electromagnetics and communications
• Utilizing commercial electromagnetic simulation software packages to model antennas, RF circuits, propagation, and scattering
• Support communications systems development and analysis by designing and analyzing innovative waveform components such as synchronization, forward error correction, spread spectrum technologies, medium access control, channel equalization, interference cancellation, etc.
• Perform modeling and simulation activities of communication systems.
• Use software defined radios to prototype novel communication systems and interfaces.
• Document and provide recommendations for improvements to communication systems including areas such as system resilience, networking, electronic warfare, capacity, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and typically requires less than 1 year of related experience.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
• Knowledge of one or more of the following: software defined radios, digital signal processing, electromagnetic propagation, types of RF and Microwave antennas, computer networking, model-based systems engineering.
• Demonstrated ability and desire to quickly learn and apply new technologies.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
