Communications Specialist

Roadie, a UPS Company, is a crowdsourced delivery platform. Founded in 2014, Roadie works with consumers, small businesses and enterprises across virtually every industry to enable scheduled, same day and urgent delivery in passenger vehicles across the U.S.  With more than 200,000 drivers nationwide, Roadie reaches more than 20,000 zip codes – the largest local same-day delivery network in the nation. 

Roadie is seeking a Communications Specialist to join its growing team. This role supports Roadie’s communications initiatives with an emphasis on public/media relations, and will also contribute to the success of other priorities, such as internal communications and executive visibility. The ideal candidate is a talented writer and a “people person” who can skillfully manage up, down and sideways to get things done.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as an advocate for the Roadie brand, looking out for the company’s best interests and working toward business-level goals
• Support Roadie’s media relations program, coordinating with both internal and external partners on media priorities
• Collaborate with our Public Relations firm on pitching priorities, responding to media inquiries and coordinating interviews
• Write content for a variety of internal and external channels, including press releases, articles, media briefs and related materials
• Work collaboratively with team members to ideate, develop and implement successful PR campaigns
• Contribute to the success of broader marketing team projects
  

What You’ll Bring

• 1-2 years of experience in public relations or communications (PR agency experience a plus!)
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or a related field
• Strong interpersonal skills with a talent for building relationships
• An ability to simplify information into compelling, easy-to-understand narratives for a variety of audiences
• Excellent writing skills, with an ability to adhere to brand standards and style guidance
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
