Job Title: Communications Specialist
Location: Chicago, IL (Onsite)
The Communications Specialist is a creative thinker and problem solver with experience as a relationship builder. Key responsibilities will include creating communications materials, maintaining relationships with media/organizations/communities, maintaining a social media presence, and helping develop and advance the brand positioning of Cabrera Capital both internally and externally.
- Create and manage the drafting, review, and approval of internal and external communication materials including press releases, website, social media, and intranet content, key messages, etc
- Actively maintain Cabrera Capital's website and social media presence by managing the content within and contributing campaign ideas and strategy.
- Develop marketing materials/ads and coordinate their distribution for events, conferences, and sponsorship engagements.
- Implement communications plans and strategies that promote Cabrera Capital's objectives and drive employee engagement in the business and its leadership.
- Develop, maintain, and manage key relationships with media especially within the investment/finance space.
- Create and push out weekly content on LinkedIn.com to help grow engagement and brand awareness
- Monitor news and trends within the investment/finance space to identify and leverage emerging issues.
- Research, recommend, and maintain a calendar of key events, speaking engagements, award opportunities, and conferences for Cabrera Capital leadership.
- Provide tactical support to team members as needed, which will include writing speeches, proposals, media/PR material and assisting with research to create content for new business pitches and client proposals
- Standardize client presentations across all business lines to create consistency.
- Evaluate the performance and effectiveness of communications campaigns and create reports as needed.
- Work closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure alignment of all communications with Cabrera Capitals policies and vision.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or similar.
- 2-3 years professional experience developing and executing integrated communications strategies.
- Outstanding writing ability and excellent verbal and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and interest in newsworthy investment/finance trends, issues, milestones, and events.
- Strong partnering skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues across the firm including senior management and C-Level executives.
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to deliver to multiple deadlines.
- Exemplary attention to detail, self-motivated and accountable
- Ability to work non-traditional work hours as needed and attend business related events
