Communications Specialist

Role Summary:

We are looking for an energized communicator who will play a crucial role in shaping the company's corporate narrative. Supporting internal and external communications, you will contribute to positive brand storytelling, employee engagement and effective message development. As a key member of the Communications Team, you will work closely with peers across the business to align our communications with Flowserve's values and strategy.

In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for directly supporting comprehensive communications strategies that support Flowserve's overall business objectives. You'll provide proactive and reactive messaging, contribute to the creation and distribution of various internal and external communications and assist with internal communications initiatives that engage, inform and inspire our global employee base.

Role Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the Communications Manager to design and execute communications strategies that align with Flowserve's goals and values.
• Develop, edit and publish various internal and external communications across multiple formats (internal news stories, emails, videos, social media posts) that resonate across the organization.
• Provide production and content support for events such as town halls, presentations, conferences and leadership meetings.
• Engage cross-functionally with different departments to discover and develop impactful storytelling opportunities.
• Utilize multiple software tools to enable team efficiencies (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Business Wire, Meltwater, Wrike)
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience/Skills:

• Corporate Communications, Marketing or Public Relations agency experience (coursework or internship)
• BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 1-3 years relevant experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint
• Previous experience (coursework or internship) creating and/or executing communication plans
• Excellent writing and editing skills required, as well as a solid understanding of how to write in AP style
• Excellent problem-solving, and a keen attention to detail and accuracy, even while supporting multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Experience in an international and/or global work environment is preferred
• Experience working with other communication software such as Meltwater, Business Wire, Muck Rack, Hootsuite a plus
