The Operational Innovation and Modernization Department (N153) partners with the Mobility Air Forces) and Combat Air Forces to inform warfighter requirements, modernization priorities, and new concepts. The department drives the rapid transformation of current and future USAF warfighter operations through rapid prototyping; digital engineering; mission analysis; innovative concept development, requirements development and application of enabling technologies; and operational and technical assessments through experimentation and field evaluations. With direct connections to warfighters, N153 informs technology innovation and capability analysis, as well as development and analysis of Concepts of Operation, mission threads, use cases, and operational requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Systems engineering for the design and plan C2 and C4 System integration, interoperability, and modernization efforts.
• Develop and refine cloud requirements and architecture for AF, Joint, and coalition mission resiliency and interoperability.
• Assess and recommend solutions for mission operations in communications-contested/degraded environments.
• Integrate and automate data interfaces between systems to achieve data-centricity for the implementation of AFCENT Data Management
• Develop integrated solutions between AF, CENTCOM and Coalition systems/partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) a minimum of 10 years of related experience; or 8 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 5 years' experience
• An active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
• Experience in Military operations or tactical environments
• Experience with cloud technologies and architectures for overseas environments
• Experience in designing and managing military and or commercial satellite communications systems/architectures
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead teams across organizations, work closely with sponsors and staff, as well as an ability to frame and articulate technical problems to a wide variety of partner audiences
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to brief senior leaders on technical areas
• Ability to work across multiple organizations and geographic locations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science in Engineering with 8 years or PhD in Engineering with 5 years' experience
• Experience with coalition operations and interoperability
• Demonstrated experience building highly collaborative teams
• Experience with agile management techniques, tools and practices
