Community Outreach Coordinator

About this role:

Responsible for the outreach efforts of KDC’s Family Support Program in integrating KDC within the communities it serves.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm

In this role, you’ll get to:

• Serve as Liaison between KDC Family Support and various Community organizations
• Identifies current and new potential outreach possibilities
• Meets with local community programs to share information and resources about KDC
• Maintains outreach database and tracks quarterly statistical information
• Design material for outreach
• Complete required reports
• Provide outreach and multicultural trainings and activities
• Coordinates outreach information via face to face visits, written, email, and media information to all local community agencies, health care professionals, schools, churches, etc.
• Respond to requests for information from families and community members
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee or public interest groups
• Communicate with people outside the organization representing KDC to customers, the public, government and other external sources.
• Identify and recruit potential volunteer workers
• Publicize programs through sources such as newsletters, bulletins or mailings
• Schedule events, programs and activities as well as the work of others
• Performs other job-related responsibilities as assigned.

We are looking for people who have:

• High School Diploma/GED
• 1 year working with people with disabilities
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Able to meet required competency level in Microsoft
• Office Software.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to meet with Community Providers in their place of business
• Travel required
• Frequent phone contact
• Ability to use Computer
