Community Outreach Coordinator

About this role:
Responsible for the outreach efforts of KDC’s Family Support Program in integrating KDC within the communities it serves.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm
In this role, you’ll get to:
- Serve as Liaison between KDC Family Support and various Community organizations
- Identifies current and new potential outreach possibilities
- Meets with local community programs to share information and resources about KDC
- Maintains outreach database and tracks quarterly statistical information
- Design material for outreach
- Complete required reports
- Provide outreach and multicultural trainings and activities
- Coordinates outreach information via face to face visits, written, email, and media information to all local community agencies, health care professionals, schools, churches, etc.
- Respond to requests for information from families and community members
- Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of community, consumer, employee or public interest groups
- Communicate with people outside the organization representing KDC to customers, the public, government and other external sources.
- Identify and recruit potential volunteer workers
- Publicize programs through sources such as newsletters, bulletins or mailings
- Schedule events, programs and activities as well as the work of others
- Performs other job-related responsibilities as assigned.
We are looking for people who have:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 1 year working with people with disabilities
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Able to meet required competency level in Microsoft
- Office Software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to meet with Community Providers in their place of business
- Travel required
- Frequent phone contact
- Ability to use Computer
