The Vital Village Community Engagement Network is a collective impact initiative to improve child well-being and prevent abuse and neglect involving three neighborhoods in Boston. The central goal of the Vital Village Network is to seed sustainable and scalable community change around child protection by mobilizing a collective investment from residents, community organizations (CBOs) and institutions using a strengths-based and trauma-informed paradigm.

Member of the BMC Vital Village Network interdisciplinary team serving as Community Partnerships, Program Coordinator working with CBOs, community champions, and institutions. The Community Partnerships, Program Coordinator will play a key role in sustaining the collaborative network, overseeing network programs, and supporting the backbone functions of the Network. A key responsibility will be overseeing and improving the two-generation strategies and partnerships within the Network focused on children zero to three, their caregivers, and systems of care and education. In this role, you will assist with network communications with Network members across digital platforms, systems development for internal and external purposes, and increasing access to programs for Network families and members. Responsible for scheduling key partner meetings and supporting internal financial processes. Communicates effectively and maintains documentation and recordkeeping.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

Network responsibilities:

  • Support program manager/director with overseeing network projects and functions including but not limited to: Network communications,social emotional learning, caregiver and parent leadership and civic service, and mental health wellbeing.
  • Help ensure families and partners can meaningfully engage in Vital Village Network activities and events through expansion of partnerships and two-generation strategic programming andtrauma informed and healing centered models.
  • Provides and receives constructive feedback from team members as it relates to performance in an appropriate manner
  • 2)Meeting and Event Coordination and Documentation

  • Supports team and partner meeting scheduling and documentation, including notetaking, invitations, and meeting/video conferencing and technology tools.
  • Provides support for meeting and event planning logistics, including facilitation or partner co-facilitation, site visits (when in-person), ordering supplies and equipment, printing, and other preparatory tasks
  • Supports upkeep of project management and file organization tools, including Basecamp and Google Drive systems
  • Communications responsibilities:

  • Lead regular communication with Vital Village Network staff, community partners, CBOs, stakeholders, and residents (including calls, emails, blogs, and newsletters) regarding Network activities
  • Assist program manager/director with regular communications engagement activities in collaboration with Vital Village staff through the organization's various social media and communications platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Constant Contact, etc) to best communicate the Vital Village Network mission and activities and provide timely information to Network members and future partners
  • Support in scheduling key partner meetings with Vital Village Network staff and members to ensure needs are met and there is timely follow up
  • Coordinate the promotion and content creation for the text message resource for parents with young children in Boston, CONtext
  • Community partner responsibilities:

  • Tracking of existing and new partnership within database management systems.
  • Build and maintain relationships with network partners
  • Contributes to the development of new ideas that affect the program/medical center
  • Program finances management:

  • Support the financial reimbursement and tracking of expenses for Network director and related projects
  • Provide development assistance to manager/director to ensure Network sustainability, activities include systems development, grant reports, and evaluation efforts.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors in public health, education, social work or other human services area or equivalent experience a plus.
  • CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:

  • None
  • EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience in community engagement and outreach, executive administrative support, and/or marketing and communications.
  • Experience working with urban multicultural population also required.
  • KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and record keeping (writing) skills.
  • Strong knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time effectively.
  • Functions well as a member of a team.
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills not required, but a plus (especially Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Spanish, Cape Verdean).
