This position serves as a planner responsible for various airport and aviation planning activities for the Office of Airports (ARP) in Central Region.

Qualifications
In addition to the basic education requirement, to qualify for this position at the:
FV-G level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-F, FG/GS-5/7/9 levels. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.
Specialized experience for the FV-G level: Experience in applying planning design principles. Experience in evaluating airport planning plans, studies or reports. Experience gathering and analyzing data from a variety of sources.
FV-H level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G or FG/GS-10/11 levels.
Specialized experience for the FV-H level: Experience in evaluating airport planning plans, studies or reports.
Experience in Federal Funding assistance related to airport planning rules and regulations. Experience in Airport Master Plan & Airport Layout Plan development and approval.
FV-I level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-12 level.
Specialized experience for the FV-I level: Experience developing or approving airport layout plans and airport master plans. Experience developing or reviewing airport planning consultant contracts and scopes of work. Experience in collaborating and working with multiple entities on complex, large scale planning and environmental projects.
The position may be filled at the FV-G or FV-H or FV-I. Identification of promotion in the vacancy announcement does not constitute a commitment or an obligation on the part of management to promote the employee selected at some future date. Promotion will depend upon the selectee meeting training, qualification requirements, and recommendation by the supervisor.

Education
This position has a positive education requirement: Applicants must submit a copy of their college or university transcripts(s) and certificates by the closing date of announcement to verify qualifications. Schools must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Accreditation may be verified at the following website: www.ed.gov/accreditation.
Foreign education must be evaluated by a private professional organization specializing in interpretation of foreign education credentials or an accredited U.S. educational institution in terms of equivalence to a degree acquired at an American college or university. A copy of the evaluation results must be included, otherwise your foreign education will not be considered.
Degree: community planning; or related field such as urban affairs, architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, sociology, geography, economics, political science, or public administration that included at least 12 semester hours in the planning process, socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, urban and regional economic analysis, and development finance.
OR
Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in one of the above disciplines, or a combination of related courses totaling at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the above disciplines of which at least 12 semester hours were in the planning process, and socioeconomic and physical elements of planning, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
