๐ŸŽ  About the Go-to-Market Team
 
The Go-to-Market team at Whatnot is responsible for the expansion of our category suite and the continued growth of sellers and buyers on the platform. As a Partnerships Manager, youโ€™ll focus on recruiting, managing, and growing the seller communities of the many existing and upcoming Whatnot product categories.
 
๐Ÿ’ป  Role

The small but mighty Partnerships Development team is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to drive relationships and development for our future top sellers, media and brand partners. You will be at the forefront of a cross functional, multi disciplinary group supporting the development of a wide variety of sellers on Whatnot for the Go To Market team. The Partner Development Manager will be a foundational role to building long-standing businesses with our partners. If you possess strong relationship-building skills, love helping people and businesses grow, being part of a new team, and enjoy working cross-functionally to bring to life and launch our key partners, this is the role of a lifetime. 

The Partner Development team is seeking a go-getter who will help drive growth and impact for sellers within our platform, enabling us to build life changing business on Whatnot. As we are in the early days, you will also identify new ways to grow the Seller Development Programs at scale to deliver great impact so both sellers and Whatnot can continue to build together in the many years to come. 

Reporting to the Head of Partner Development, the ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable in a high growth environment, can make quick decisions, loves talking to sellers about their business, and can work with various marketing channels to help share these stories to the wider public. You have past experience helping grow content creators/businesses and love building from the ground up various materials to support their growth. Specifically, 

  • Build, launch and iterate on virtual and IRL events that will help sellers grow a long term business on Whatnot.   
  • Create marketing materials for sellers (decks, one pagers, infographics etc.) to help educate and inspire them 
  • Set up and manage various communication channels (Mailchimp, blogs, Seller Academy) to help educate sellers at scale
  • Support our GTM team with operational excellence including cross functional updates and communications, weekly tracking, participating in programs and events, progress on seller growth and any blockers. 
  • Work collaboratively & cross-functionally with Partnerships, Marketing/Creative, Go to Market, Marketing, and Product teams and over communicate to each stakeholder to share our learnings and feedback that continue to deliver impact.

๐Ÿ‘‹  You

  • 5+ years of experience in a partner-facing role in the Internet, media/entertainment, and/or BD/Partnerships role building and growing communities 
  • Ability to manage virtual and in person events at scale with high attention to detail 
  • Passion and experience for building communication channels at scale (Mailchimp, Squarespace, Blogs, Social, etc.) 
  • Experience working with PR/Comms teams to share and elevate stories within the community 
  • Experience prioritizing and effectively motivating internal and external stakeholders to work towards a common goal
  • Passion for working with cross-functional teams to collaborate, and successfully build businesses and brands

  • Experience working within a seller academy or Partner Development Program 
  • Experience building a business from the ground up
  • Passion for creator communities and/or existing Whatnot product categories (e.g. vintage clothing, collectibles).
  • Experience buying and selling in online marketplaces.
