About Our Client
Our client began its transformation from a corporate holding company to an investment holding company three years ago. During this period, it has strategically reduced its ownership in three of its five wholly owned subsidiaries to 40% or less and has fully divested from one subsidiary. The investee companies are involved in various financial sectors, including healthcare, finance, and insurance, contributing to a well-diversified resource base. They are currently enhancing their core executive team to effectively manage their interests in these investee companies.
Job Purpose
Our client is seeking an Accountant to oversee all financial transactions, including fixed payments, variable expenses, bank deposits, and budgeting. The responsibilities also include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements, and calculating tax payments and returns. To excel in this role, candidates should have previous experience in bookkeeping and a keen eye for identifying numerical errors. Ultimately, the successful candidate will provide our client with accurate quantitative information regarding the financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of the business while ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.
Job Description
Responsibilities:
β’ Manage all accounting transactions
β’ Prepare budget forecasts
β’ Publish financial statements in time (requires consolidation of accounts)
β’ Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
β’ Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
β’ Ensure timely bank payments
β’ Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
β’ Manage all financial statements
β’ Report on the companyβs financial health and liquidity
β’ Audit financial transactions and documents
β’ Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
β’ Comply with financial policies and regulations
β’ Appraise third party financial statement for investment purposes.
Qualifications
Requirements and skills:
β’ Minimum 5 years work experience as an Accountant post qualification.
β’ Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP / IFRS.
β’ Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
β’ Advanced MS Excel skills including V-look-ups and pivot tables
β’ Experience with general ledger functions
β’ Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
β’ Professional certification (ICAN or CMA) is a requirement.
