Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Company Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s financial records with a primary focus on bookkeeping, reconciliation, and payment responsibilities. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting day-to-day financial operations, and ensuring compliance with applicable financial regulations. Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping: • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and other financial transactions. • Process invoices, receipts, payments, and other financial documentation in a timely manner. • Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately. • Monitor and reconcile bank statements with general ledger accounts on a regular basis. Reconciliation: • Perform daily, monthly, and annual bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy. • Reconcile accounts payable and receivable, ensuring all financial transactions are correctly recorded and balanced. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records, working closely with relevant departments to correct errors. Payment Responsibility: • Manage the company’s payment processes, including processing and recording payments, handling vendor inquiries, and ensuring timely payments to vendors and service providers. • Prepare and review payment schedules, ensuring adherence to company policies and cash flow management strategies. • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory payment requirements, including filing tax returns and making tax payments. Financial Reporting: • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. • Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports. • Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making by management. Compliance and Audits: • Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and company policies. • Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations. Process Improvement: • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations. • Stay updated on industry best practices and relevant financial regulations to ensure the company’s financial processes remain current and compliant. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred. • Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role, with a strong focus on bookkeeping, reconciliation, and payment processing. • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
