Job Description

Cassia, a senior living organization, is hiring a Compensation and Systems Optimization Specialist to work with our Human Resources team to focus on compensation and systems optimization. In this role, you will work alongside home office and site leaders to ensure compensation is competitive within the market and consistent with organizational principles and total rewards philosophies.
You will report to the Vice President of Human Resources at our Edina Home Office where you will support our senior living communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa, Colorado, and Florida.
In this position, you must be able to work at the corporate office in Edina, Minnesota for the training period. Then there will be an opportunity to move into a Hybrid role if desired.
Compensation and Systems Optimization Specialist Responsibilities:
Compensation Analysis:
Assist in the development and administration of employee salary administration programs by performing the following duties:

  • Develop and implement salary administration guidelines based on best practices.
  • Ensure compensation practices align with Cassia strategic philosophies, including recruitment, retention, and budgetary requirements.
  • Conduct and participate in compensation benchmark reviews and market pricing of jobs to ensure market competitiveness. Collaborate with local and regional teams as needed.
  • Analyze pay equity, including work within the organization to ensure job descriptions, position level, and salary ranges align.
  • Provide recommendations for adjustments to compensation strategies based on analysis and industry trends.
  • Manage and ensure compliance related to compensation, including but not limited to conducting FLSA assessments, IRS guidelines, internal policies.
  • Generate and present detailed compensation reports and metrics to senior management.


HRIS and HR Systems Optimization:
Work alongside home office and site leaders to ensure additional processes can be automated using new and existing systems to create greater consistency and efficiency.

  • Assess current HRIS functionalities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize HRIS performance and user experience.
  • Collaborate with IT and HR teams to enhance system capabilities and resolve issues.
  • Work with Director of People Systems on system upgrades, integrations, and customizations to align with compensation and HR processes.
  • Design and implement automation solutions to streamline HR workflows and processes.
  • In partnership with People Systems, conduct training sessions for HR staff on new functionalities and system updates.

Compensation and Systems Optimization Specialist Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in compensation analysis/management, HRIS systems, analytics, or a related role.
  • Solid understanding of compensation regulations and market trends.
  • Positive experience in HRIS systems use, configuration, and automation.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and technical proficiency.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex data and recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, and experience with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG, Workday) is required.
