Company Overview

Kairos Power is a new nuclear energy technology and engineering company whose mission is to enable the world’s transition to clean energy, with the ultimate goal to dramatically improve people’s quality of life while protecting the environment. This goal will be accomplished through the commercialization of the fluoride-salt-cooled, high-temperature reactor (FHR) that can be deployed with robust safety, affordable costs, and flexible operation to accommodate the expansion of variable renewables.

Job Summary

Kairos Power is seeking a highly motivated Compensation Intern eager to learn about day-to-day process and procedures in the Compensation function. The Compensation Intern will assist with the design and administration of Kairos Power’s compensation programs with the guidance and mentorship of the Compensation Manager as well as other members of the People Operations team. This is a highly analytical role and strong excel skills are required.  The Compensation Intern will be able to contribute to some or all of the responsibilities listed below.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing jobs using salary surveys
  • Compensation reviews for People Operations Managers which assess pay competitiveness across business functions and levels
  • Implementation, rollout and administration of the company’s pay bands
  • Administration of the quarterly performance and pay cycle in Smartsheet, including collaboration on the development new pieces of the application, creating analytics for the People Operations team, and creating add hock reports
  • Implementation of the compensation module in Rippling
  • Setup of equity grants and communications regarding the available share pool
  • Salary survey participation
  • Special projects as needed
  • Learn to use internal tools such as Smartsheet, Rippling and Shareworks
  • Learn to use salary surveys such as CompAnalyst and Radford
  • Responsible for confidential and sensitive compensation or financial data

Qualifications

  • Current student pursuing Bachelors degree in any analytical specialization
  • Interest in the high-growth technology sector, preferable in nuclear and clean energy
  • Desire to learn, grow, and take on additional tasks
  • Not afraid to ask questions
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to adapt job tasks as required
  • Willingness to achieve a high standard of accuracy and precision
  • Ability to work with highly collaborative team

The hourly range for this position is $25-27 employees working onsite at our Alameda, CA headquarters or $24-26 for remote employees working in California. The range provided in this job posting represents the typical range or starting rate of candidates hired in California.
